American Idol

Well, I wasn't going to do this but I'M BORED!

So, who is watching American Idol tonight??? My vote is on Blake. This years Idol has not been my favorite, in fact, it's been pretty boring, but I still watch it. Even though my favorite singer of all time..Michael W. Smith is voting for Jordin, I've still got to go for Blake. Not that Jordin isn't worthy and great, I'm just not really into girl singers, I don't know why but they bother me.

Tonight's show will be interesting but I've got to say that the highlight of the evening will be......TAYLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (see # 45 of 100 Things About Heather).

That's enough of my rant....SOUL PATROL!!!!!!!!!!

(Hmmm, I think I'll turn on my iPod and listen to him right now..Kyleigh's going to be mad at me for this post..she can't stand Taylor - LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I'm So Excited

Dan & I decided that the one splurge with our income taxes would be a new digital camera. The one I have (and am very thankful for as it was given to me by a good friend) is just too old. I miss every shot due to the delay from when I push my finger down to when it actually takes the picture. It drives me crazy! Well, my new camera will be here today. Our pastors have a version of this camera and they love it...so, we went with the same type they have. Here's my new baby, I can't wait to use it today. Hopefully, you will see more, and better, pictures of the Thomson activities :)

Kicking the Habit

I'm finally doing it. I'm kicking the Pepsi habit. Before I go on, I'll let you get back up on your chair so you can keep reading. It has been a long and difficult process but has been helped greatly by drinking large amounts of green tea. It still has caffeine in it but is better for you. Consequently, I have not had such bad headaches or mood swings and for that I am thankful! I now allow myself only one Pepsi a day during my lunch hour. What has turned into an eight a day habit is now down to only one and I see so many benefits. So far I feel more "me" (that is hard to explain), I was very dependent on when I would get my next "fix" and I don't feel that way any more. I can start my day without the need to run to the fridge for the pop. Every day I would feel so drained and exhausted and I don't feel that way any more. I have a lot more energy and I am definitely not drained and exhausted.

My next two goals are to start eating more healthy and to start exercising.

Bumper Stickers

So, honestly, I think bumper stickers are a strange thing...you can tell a lot of things about someone's bumper sticker. You can tell their religion, political beliefs, sense of humor, etc. I personally have never been a big bumper sticker person but a year ago I found one I just had to have...and, boy did it make waves.

I got many comments about that sticker...some people got it..some people did not...and, honestly, most did not. Well, needless to say as much as I loved my sticker, it has been replaced. Kyleigh respectfully demanded that it be removed prior to entering middle school and I could not blame her. Middle schoolers love to be cruel without me just handing them something to tease her about.

What we learned though is that you can not have a suburban of our color in our town without a bumper sticker. You end up trying to get in other peoples cars, can't find your car in the parking lot., etc.

Here is our new sticker and it has Kyleigh's stamp of approval. I am happy, the kids are happy, we are honoring someone that we admire and respect...and, I no longer get lost in the parking lots!

My 31st Birthday Present

So, I have to admit that when I started this I thought that Kyleigh would be first, then Landon, Tristyn..and then Crikey..but, it didn't work that way.

Here's the newest member of our family. He is my 31st birthday present from the family. He's a Russian Tortoise and his name is Crikey. Isn't he so darn
cute??? I love him. We have a total blast with him.

And, he loves his veggies..I'm not sure he's a true Thomson.
